Chhavi Moodgal is an accomplished financial services professional with over two decades of experience in investment banking, strategy, entrepreneurship, and endowments. As President, Public Alternatives, she is leading the scale up of Edelweiss’ listed alternate asset platform.

Chhavi believes investor preferences are shifting toward uncorrelated return streams, downside resilience, and outcome‑oriented strategies as portfolios mature and volatility rises. With the country’s alternatives market projected to grow significantly in the coming decade, she sees a strong opportunity for Edelweiss to broaden its suite of innovative public‑alternative products – leveraging the organisation’s deep expertise in asset management, to serve discerning investors seeking diversification and clearly defined risk‑return outcomes.

In her previous role, Chhavi served as the Founding CEO of the IIM Ahmedabad Endowment Fund (IIMAEF), the institution’s unified fundraising and philanthropic arm. She established a first of its kind endowment fund for a business school in India and oversaw its strategy, fundraising, deployment, reporting, and management of the fund. This role enabled her to work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders—including academic leaders, the IIM Ahmedabad Board, corporate partners, and alumni donors. She was also an advisor to the IIM Calcutta’s Endowment Fund and supported several academic institutions to set up a fund for their long-term sustainability and to maximise their impact.

Prior to this, Chhavi served as Group Chief Strategy Officer at InCred, where she played a central role in establishing the Group’s wealth business along with the CEO and senior leadership. She also led strategic initiatives across M&A, supported the hiring of critical senior talent – including fund managers for the asset management vertical – and contributed to several organisation‑wide strategic initiatives.

Before InCred, Chhavi led her own entrepreneurial startup – a boutique advisory firm in wealth and asset management. Chhavi helped set up and implement private credit and multi asset PMS strategies as well as advisory mandates for clients and dealt with regulators extensively for all requisite licenses.

Chhavi has spent her first working decade at large banks – Standard Chartered, UBS, and Kotak as a key member of their investment banking franchise. She has executed capital markets, M&A, and private equity transactions for blue‑chip corporates including Larsen & Toubro (L&T), IDFC, HDFC Bank, and Apollo Tyres. In her career, Chhavi has advised on deals of above US$20 bn.

Before joining Edelweiss, Ajay was the Managing Partner at Calibrium Capital. His entrepreneurial spirit is evident from his founding roles at Flowering Tree Investment Management, mangotown.in.

His career also includes significant tenures at Asian Management (JH Whitney), CLSA, and JM Morgan Stanley, enriching his industry experience.

He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM -A), complemented by a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi.

Ajay has a unique skill, he has analysed and invested in companies not just in India, but also China, Japan, Australia, and South East Asia. He brings a truly global perspective to investing.

Ajay is an award-winning analyst. He was the top-rated analyst by Asiamoney & Business Today. He published some thought-provoking research of the healthcare industry and predicted severe price deflation in generics.

He has built businesses from scratch which include Asset Management, 3D Printing and Therapy Centres for special needs children.

Having been an entrepreneur himself and interacted with many, Ajay understands entrepreneurs, he can relate to the difficulty they face in building out businesses through all the ups and downs, the peaks and the valleys.

From the 25 years of being an investor and entrepreneur, Ajay has formulated a unique investment philosophy. With over a decade in the finance industry, Gautam Berry has earned the moniker “Hustler” within his team due to his ability to juggle multiple roles. Growing up surrounded by investors and traders ignited his fascination with equities, leading him to pursue an MSc in Finance and earn the prestigious CFA Charter after completing his engineering studies.

Gautam’s career has spanned research, trading, operations, and spearheading processes for new fund launches, demonstrating his adaptability and leadership in navigating the complexities of financial markets.

Outside the office, Gautam embraces a laid-back demeanour, cherishing moments with his family, playing with his toddler, and enjoying enriching conversations with friends over coffee. Melroy Rodrigues has over eight years of experience in the finance industry. His career began at a broking firm as a Research Associate, a role he held for more than a year. In 2017, he joined PGIM India Asset Management Pvt. Ltd. (formerly known as DHFL Pramerica Asset Managers Pvt. Ltd.) as a Research Associate.

In 2019, he transitioned to the PMS department and began his role as an Equity Dealer. Since then, he has thrived in this position, managing both PMS and later the Mutual Fund side of the business. Melroy holds a Master of Management Studies (MMS) degree in Finance from the Xavier Institute of Management & Research and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree from R.A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics.

Beyond his professional life, Melroy loves travelling and exploring new places. Travelling gives him a fresh perspective and allows him to immerse himself in new cultures and appreciate diverse flavours and culinary traditions. He also enjoys strategic games like chess and table tennis, finding them both relaxing and intellectually stimulating. Additionally, he has a passion for exploring local restaurants and trying new cuisines.

Rupesh Jadhav has 13 years of experience in accounts, finance, and fund accounting operations. His approach to work is detail-oriented, managing and overseeing financial operations with precision. He holds a commerce degree.

He has been responsible for a range of tasks related to fund operations, such as recording and reconciling transactions, preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations, and communicating with auditors, regulators, investors, and other stakeholders.

Outside of work, Rupesh enjoys spending time with his two kids and prefers activities away from screens and numbers.

With 19 years of dedicated experience in client servicing, particularly in the account opening department, Seema has cultivated a profound understanding of the intricacies and dynamics of the industry.

At Edelweiss, Seema further refined her skills and embraced new challenges, consistently delivering high-quality service and maintaining the highest standards of client engagement.
